LiHelper vs Buffer: a Buffer alternative built only for LinkedIn

A multi-network scheduler against a LinkedIn-only AI growth tool. Where Buffer wins, where LiHelper wins, and who should pick which. From both public sites as of September 2026.

A Buffer alternative for LinkedIn is for people who use Buffer to schedule LinkedIn posts but want more than a queue. They want posts written for them, images designed for them, a posting time based on their own results, and analytics from their own profile. Buffer is a general social media scheduler. It plans, drafts and schedules posts to LinkedIn Profiles and Company Pages alongside ten other networks. LiHelper is an independent AI LinkedIn growth tool that does one network and goes deeper on it. Neither is a drop-in replacement for the other, so this page is about fit rather than a winner.

Buffer in short

As of September 2026 Buffer offers three plans. Free covers up to three channels with ten scheduled posts per channel. Essentials is $5 a month per channel, or $60 a year, with unlimited scheduled posts and advanced analytics. Team is $10 a month per channel with unlimited team members and approval workflows. Paid plans come with a 14-day free trial. Every plan includes Buffer's AI Assistant for ideas, drafts and hashtags, plus a browser extension for sharing. For LinkedIn it schedules text, image, GIF, video, link, PDF and carousel posts to Profiles and Company Pages. It reports followers, impressions, clicks, reactions, comments, shares, engagement rate and page views. Its Community feature lets you reply to comments. Buffer does not list a built-in best-time feature on its LinkedIn page. It has no in-session automation and no job tools.

Where Buffer is better, and where LiHelper is better

Buffer wins on

  • Every network in one queue: X, Threads, Mastodon, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Bluesky and Google Business Profile alongside LinkedIn. LiHelper is LinkedIn only.
  • LinkedIn Company Pages as well as profiles, plus carousel and PDF posts. LiHelper publishes text and image posts to a personal profile.
  • Price for plain scheduling: Essentials at $5 a month per channel, and a Free plan with an AI Assistant. If you do not need AI drafts written for you, Buffer is cheaper than LiHelper Creator.
  • A Community inbox to see and reply to comments on your posts and pages from the dashboard, and team members with approval workflows on the Team plan.
  • A long track record, published research on posting times and a large help library; it is the safe default for a multi-network calendar.

LiHelper wins on

  • A LinkedIn content engine, not just a scheduler. Daily Autopilot drafts a post from your own headline, skills and best posts every day. It designs an image and schedules the post; you approve with one tap.
  • A best-time slot computed from your own synced engagement history rather than a generic schedule.
  • Personal-profile analytics from your own LinkedIn analytics pages, synced by the LiHelper Connector on the Chrome Web Store. Available on every plan, including Free, with no 30-day cap.
  • Designed images included in the quota on both paid plans, chosen by the content itself.
  • Pro adds capped engagement help, drafted comments and Easy Apply assist with job tools, which Buffer does not offer.
  • A single, LinkedIn-specific price with a 14-day trial and no card. See the pricing page.

Who should pick which

Pick Buffer if you publish to more than one network, manage a Company Page, or post carousels or PDFs. Pick it if your team needs approvals, or if you simply want the cheapest reliable queue for posts you write yourself. Social media managers and small marketing teams are the obvious fit. For them LiHelper would be a second tool, not a replacement.

Pick LiHelper if LinkedIn is the network that matters, and the hard part is showing up every day with something worth posting. Creator at $12 turns your profile into a daily draft with a designed image at your best hour. Pro at $29 adds auto-publishing, capped engagement help and Easy Apply assist. That makes it the choice for job seekers and founders who want growth and applications in one place. If you only need a LinkedIn scheduler and honest analytics, LiHelper Free costs nothing and has no time limit. It sits comfortably next to Buffer for your other networks.

Moving LinkedIn from Buffer to LiHelper

Keep Buffer for your other channels if you have them; only the LinkedIn queue moves. Create a LiHelper account; the 14-day Creator trial starts with no card. Connect LinkedIn with OAuth so posts publish through the official share API, and install the LiHelper Connector. Open your LinkedIn analytics page once and click sync. Your post history, impressions, followers and profile views land in the dashboard. The best-time engine starts from that data, and Daily Autopilot drafts its first post from your profile. Paste any LinkedIn posts still queued in Buffer into LiHelper's calendar. Then remove the LinkedIn channel from Buffer so nothing publishes twice.

Two honest notes. LiHelper meters AI posts and visual credits per month, where Buffer's paid plans have no scheduling cap, so heavy publishers should check the quotas on the pricing page. And LiHelper's Pro engagement and Easy Apply features act in your own browser within daily caps and only when you click, which LinkedIn's User Agreement can treat as automation; the FAQ answer on ban risk covers it, and the About page explains why we are upfront about it. Leave those features off and your exposure is the same as with Buffer.

LiHelper vs Buffer: frequently asked questions

Is LiHelper a Buffer alternative for LinkedIn only?

Yes. LiHelper does one network. Buffer schedules to LinkedIn Profiles and Company Pages, plus X, Threads, Mastodon, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Bluesky and Google Business Profile. If you post to several networks, Buffer is the right shape. If LinkedIn is where your growth happens, LiHelper goes deeper there. It offers profile-driven AI drafts, best-time scheduling from your own stats, extension-synced analytics and, on Pro, engagement and job tools.

Which is cheaper, Buffer or LiHelper?

For pure scheduling on a LinkedIn profile, both have a free option: Buffer Free covers up to three channels with ten scheduled posts per channel, and LiHelper Free covers one LinkedIn profile with a calendar, drafts and extension analytics. Buffer Essentials is $5 a month per channel and Team is $10 per channel as of September 2026. LiHelper Creator is $12 a month for 30 AI posts and 15 visual credits, and Pro is $29.

Does Buffer have AI writing like LiHelper?

Buffer includes an AI Assistant on every plan. It helps generate ideas, draft posts and suggest hashtags. LiHelper's AI is LinkedIn-specific. Each draft is conditioned on your headline, skills and best-performing posts, comes with a designed image, and Daily Autopilot schedules one a day at your best time. Buffer's assistant is general-purpose across networks; LiHelper's is a daily LinkedIn content engine.

How do the analytics differ?

Buffer reports followers, impressions, clicks, reactions, comments, shares, engagement rate and page views. Company-page analytics are on paid plans, and Free keeps 30 days of history. LiHelper syncs impressions, engagements, followers, profile views and per-post stats for your personal profile. The LiHelper Connector Chrome extension reads them from your own LinkedIn analytics pages, on every plan, and LiHelper uses that history to pick your posting hour.

Is LiHelper as safe as Buffer for my LinkedIn account?

For writing and scheduling, both publish through LinkedIn's official API, and neither needs your password. LiHelper also offers Pro engagement and Easy Apply features. Those act inside your own browser session, within daily caps and only when you click. LinkedIn's User Agreement can treat that as automation, so LiHelper states the risk plainly and lets you leave those features off. Buffer offers no in-session automation.

Every account starts with a 14-day Creator trial — no card needed. Want Pro? Start a 14-day Pro trial at checkout; you are not charged until it ends. Nothing publishes until you approve it, and no LinkedIn password or cookie ever leaves your browser.
